People do like listening to horror stories.......Would a Browns game on a Sunday move the needle that much?
Probably with people who absolutely refuse to listen to AM under any circumstance (I know one such person with baseball) and/or can't get decent reception of 92.3? 98.5 is also adversiting a new post-game show that includes music.Would a Browns game on a Sunday move the needle that much?
I’ve got my Kevin Stefanski costume ready for Halloween. It’s a Browns uniform with a sign that says, “We’re headed to the Toilet Bowl!”People do like listening to horror stories.......
I had an employee who listened to a station’s translator. Of course the translator had limited range. I suggested the AM signal that the translator was slave to. He looked at me like I was talking a foreign language.Probably with people who absolutely refuse to listen to AM under any circumstance (I know one such person with baseball) and/or can't get decent reception of 92.3? 98.5 is also adversiting a new post-game show that includes music.
A better one would be to get a fake salt-and-pepper beard, a Browns hat, a headset. make one of those laminated play sheets saying "Will coach for food", and hold it over your mouth like all the coaches do so Bill Belichick doesn't steal the play.I’ve got my Kevin Stefanski costume ready for Halloween. Andy Reid has them all spoken for.Or use a Denny's menu.
Great googily moogily.Andy Reid has them all spoken for.
One thing for the life of me I will never understand is the devotion people have to that franchise post 1999. They suck year after year, and people want to talk Browns 24/7 on the sports stations. As some said it is a horror story or we have a lot of masochists in this town. How many times can I turn on a radio station and people talk draft, the schedule or how bad they suck? I would rather listen to Piano Man by Billy Joel on endless loopWould a Browns game on a Sunday move the needle that much?
In this town, yes.Would a Browns game on a Sunday move the needle that much?

Always. Even in 1963 I left high school in Cleveland after being forced to be on the "football team"... and went to Mexico and then Ecuador so a could play... er, well.... an even more fanatical game: soccer.Simple.
In this town, football is a religion.
I don't think that it has as big of a hold as it once did. If they moved tomorrow I couldn't care less. 25 years of horrendous football (with the exception of what 3 years?) They don't put money in my pocket it is not enjoyable to watch and they almost always suck. You have a baseball team in this town that is generally decent and a basketball team much the same. I could understand if this was Steelers that is a storied franchise but the Browns storied franchise now to me is in Baltimore that is how I remember the Browns. Also it was nice to turn on WTAM tonight and actually hear baseball talk.Simple.

Also, they hold this team real tight because they had it ripped away from them once before (can you believe next year will be the 30th anniversary of when Art Modell announced the move to Baltimore?), they went 3 years without football, and they don't ever wanna go through that again, so good, bad, sideways, or upside down, people in this town have an extra tight bear hug on this team
Then why all the talk about a new stadium? The Browns know that the fan base is still there.I don't think that it has as big of a hold as it once did. If that's how you feel, all well and good.I don't think that it has as big of a hold as it once did.
