Cleveland Wheeler Returning to Chattanooga Airwaves

Another sort of "Legend" is going to be heard on 97.3, and this time it's not a classic country format. Chattanooga Radio Legend Cleveland Wheeler is returning to the local air for morning drive at the station recently purchased by 3 Daughters Media.

Starting as Dave Randall on MOC and "GO" before hitting Nashville and Daytona, he returned to WGOW, this time using his own name. He departed for legendary stations such as WAPE and WAYS, before settling into long stints in the Tampa Bay market. Most recently, he has been programming for XM.

I recall hearing him at one time or another on most of those stations as I traveled, and look forward to hearing him again in Chattanooga. Can't wait to hear the new 97.3.

This is great news. Cleveland Wheeler is one of the few people who still gets me excited about listening to the radio!

I worked with Cleveland at Q105 in Tampa in the late 80's. IMHO there was only one guy who could follow Scott Shannon successfully after he left the Q and that guy was Cleveland. One of the funniest mofos I ever heard. Class act.
