Clever use of RDS on Dave

It looks like Dave has found a way to monetize their RDS subcarrier--with spots for Wendy's and Global Imports BMW. Does V-103 do the same?

Very clever--only problem is, they don't do any artist-and-titles on it now. For a station that plays AAA songs that I might like but am not familiar with, they really need to intermingle the spots with the artists and titles. Not sure how tough that would be when it comes to programming the RDS feed.

Note to Cox--you could do this on River and not get one complaint ;D

I'm not in the market for a Bimmer, but it's a nice reminder that Wendy's drive-through is open late, so I would definitely call it effective.

Speaking of RDS, any idea why The Fish seems to be the only major FM in Atlanta that ISN'T using RDS?

You should still see song/artist when a song is playing. Sting Fields of Gold is on now (10:02am)

The adverts pop up during non music segments...such as DJ banter, spots etc.

They have been doing this for a couple of years. First recollection is when the BrandSmart in Kennesaw opened they ran it non-stop for the Grand Opening. Pretty much every weekend they run these ads with never a mention of Song and Title.

Wow, someone using RDS for part of it's intended use. Go figure! RDS has such a potential, yet nobody cared about it until the sat casters started putting title and artist on their receivers.
