August 3, 2006 - Clippers announce new radio home for selected games during remainder of 2006 season
Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Clippers and North American Broadcasting have
announced an agreement to broadcast selected games on WMNI Radio (920 AM),
according to Clippers President and General Manager Ken Schnacke. The station will carry 14 regular season games in August and September.
Ken Schnacke expressed thanks to Matt Mnich and Jim Pontius for being so gracious in helping to finalize these games on WMNI.
Clippers announcer Scott Leo will be joined by WMNI's Randy Rhinehart, who has been helping out the Clippers for the past several years and is also the voice of the Clippers on their cable-televised games. "These 14 games on WMNI will help by expanding our signal beyond the web-based broadcasts that we have been doing since early May. Hopefully both WMNI and the Clippers can "test the waters " this month and offer both WMNI listeners and Clippers fans some additional benefits by "teaming-up" on these fourteen games. We cannot thank WMNI enough for changing their schedule to try this venture with the Clippers".
The schedule has been dubbed “Weekend With The Clippers” and will feature Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games, plus the season finale from Toledo on Labor Day (Monday, September 4th).
In addition to the games broadcast on WMNI, all Clippers action will continue to be
available on the internet at ClippersBaseball.com
