Cloning 360 Systems Instant Replay

Does anyone have any experience cloning an Instant Replay machine? I have two that are in need of new hard drives. I have the new hard drives and want to move the audio, exactly like it is, from one hard drive to the new drive to be installed in the Instant Replay.

if you have access to a digicart, I know they could copy and restore between them. I don't remember (and it would depend on which models you have) the dnet feature allowed some networking between two machines.

I know the digicart works though. You might ask the folks at 360

If you have a copy of Symantec's Ghost, this should do the trick. The old enterprise edition with the DOS (yes,, I know) interface works best! Just do a drive to drive clone, stick it back in, and VIOLA you are good!

Thanks guys, but it's all a moot point. These Instant Replays are 10 years old with SCSI drives. The cheapest SCSI I have found is $450. With 360 Systems trade in program, I can get a new IR for $2000. The new version saves files as wav files and has an Ethernet interface. I'm gonna steer them in that direction. Time to upgrade.

I'd say you haven't been looking in the right places. You can find 9Gb SCSI drives for well under $50.

I believe that 360 offers an adapter kit that allows you to switch to EIDE drives instead of SCSI. The price was pretty reasonable - like $300-$400. Since EIDE drives are dirt cheap, that might be a good upgrade for you. You might want to ask them about it.

I have considered the possibilities. And talked to 360 about the adapters for IDE to SCSI. Considering the improvements and updates to the IR2 boxes, I think we are gonna go with the new ones. Considering they are going in a remote studio, it will be much easier to transport audio between them and swap out cuts. Thanks for everyone's input.
