Close to cancelling

It's now been three weeks since Air America left Sirius and Sirius is still simulcasting it's "Left 143" lineup on 144. I'm very upset at Sirius for keeping it's liberal listeners in the dark about their plans. I've contacted them a few times, only to be told something to the effect of "we share your concerns about progressive programming on Sirius."

This is ridiculous, especially when Sirius Left already broadcasts only one hour of two outstanding three-hour shows (Thom Hartmann and Stephanie Miller). Why not, at the very minimum, move their entire three hour shows to 144? That way at least their can be some options and they can build that channel around them.

I bought Sirius for it's left-wing talk options. If I'm not going to have options, I'm going to cancel. I'm giving them until the end of August to either tell me what they're doing or I'm ditching the dog.

The dog does have it's problems, I think it is still a newborn puppy and needs to be trained properly, I think the dog is walking the owner and NOT the owner walking the dog. I hope when stern comes to town, things will change, I really hope, and then maybe sub's wiil go up, I could care less about a martha stewart channel.

I think Sirius (and XM) face one of the same problems that plagued cable for a long time -- customers saying "why don't they have Channel X, and why am I paying for Channel Y that I never watch?" That's the problem with niche-casting, there are a zillion possible niches and only so much bandwidth. Overall, I'm pleased with the package, and I'm sure they will continue to fine tune it as they go along.

>> While you might not be pleased with some channels, I may not be pleased with some you like- thats why there are over 125 choices. If you dont like it, dont tune it in. There is something for everyone not everything for someone. Relax, be glad you have choices and its a HUGE improvement over terrestrial radio. I actually know people who are getting Sirius because of Martha. Do I care for her? No, but if she brings subs in, what do I care? Im not even a Stern fan, but can see he has a huge following and it will bring more subs to Sirius. Its called niche programming, something regular radio gave up a long time ago. I dont watch all 180 channels on my sat tv sysytem, but wouldnt go back to "free" over the air tv for anything. There seems to be no pleasing some people, they get enjoyment out of complaining and only seeing one view.

Why whine? It's 12.95 a month, and I think it's an incredible deal. I pay 85 dollars for digital cable and watch it much less than I listen to Sirius. I pay 46 for DSL (3mb) which was used primarily for chat and music (and work). I paid 13 dollars for 12 beers tonight. I spend 12 bucks a week at Tim Hortons on coffee.

So 13 dollars, for a whole whack of channels, with DJ's, imaging and songs I don't know or forgot about is a great deal. And for the stuff I don't listen too, I figure hey, that helps others that don't like my choices purchase the system.

I agree Renegade, especially about the cable tv, and internet prices. To be quite honest, (THE BOTTOM LINE) if my broke ass can afford it, I know most of these Rich Boys can. Besides that, who would cancel, with BBC1 coming??????
