Closed captioning

I often wonder if it's the TVs. At the gym where I work out, they use Direct TV and they have different brands of TV.

So on one brand the closed captions will be fine and on another they will be off a bit.

In the analog days it drove me nuts as I would listen to the audio on my walkman (it got channels 2-13) and the over the air was always ahead of Direct TV.

I noticed that on radio. There is an awesome free program called radio sure and you use it to listen to radio stations that have streams on the Internet. The Internet streams are often one or two minutes behind the over the air versions.
