Cloud 95 Morning Voice

Last Friday and again this morning I tuned in to
Bobby Rich & the Rich Brothers on KMXZ to hear
their silly (but usually humorous) "Brain File."

Bobby's voice was very hoarse--last week he
hardly participated in the routine, this week
his voice sounded maybe a hair better.

Any on-air mention of the situation?

Best wishes to Bobby to get the voice back
to normal.

I've seen mention of Cloud 95 more than once recently. I thought KMXZ was MIX FM. It's not a station I generally listen to, but wasn't it Cloud 95 YEARS ago?

I must be in on a private joke, or I am missing something here. I have never heard of Cloud 95 or the Rich brothers??? But i do listen to Bobby and Brad on Mix. And I have noticed that Bobby's voice has been very bad for several days now. Is there a reason to think there is something more than a cold or flu going on here? Is he a smoker?<P ID="signature">______________

Industry joke.

KMXZ was originally KKLD (under PD Bobby Rich)
and was positioned as Cloud 95.

Years ago a newspaper article on Tucson radio
mentioned something to the effect of "no more
clouds, we're Mix 94.9 now."

Bobby Rich & the Rich Brothers goes back to
his AM drive days at KFMB-FM San Diego.

Radio programmers hate when people still call or refer to their station under some old image or "monkier"...and any time you can run into some one from the station like at a remote...just ask them how are things at "Cloud 95"...or are you still working at "Cloud".......gosh us former KIIM jocks can be cruel....

Don't know about lately but I recall he used to do remotes for the Cancer Society "Quit Cold Turkey" campaign every year. I think he once said he had quit like 20 years ago?

Sometimes I wish we still used 96Rock...thats how most people seem to remember that. There's got to be a way to capitalize on old Monikers!

Lets see a guy on the radio can't get sick? Oh it must be a conspiracy...he must be deathly ill if his voice sounds bad....I couldn't just be the crap that every one else in the world has this season.. nope can't be that..yep...he must be dying...
