CNBC Taking Over "NBR"

That is a much needed move. For a show about the stock market, NBR's presentation always appeared cheap. CNBC taking over will put the show squarely in Wall Street instead of bouncing back and forth between Miami and NYC.

Wasn't the Miami segment simply to accomodate Kangas living there?

Yes, he lives in Miami and WPBT produces the show.

I don't mind the purchase. As long as the presentation remains sober and doesn't turn into yet another Fast Money/Power Lunch octo-box pundit fest, I'll be fine; just give us the market facts and we'll be happy.

I don't see that happening at all. In the end, it's still a public television program and will still remain within that always stodgy but informative focus much like most all other PBS news fare like Inside Washington, Washington Week and Newshour. CNBC won't be giving away their cash cow for free just because they'll soon be producing NBR. They'll still want the stock market thrill seekers to happily purchase cable television and watch Jim Cramer on Mad Money publicly have a brain aneurysm, say the sky is falling and have his head literally pop off and explode like in the movie Scanners complete with flashy graphics and pomp.

And I agree, ever since Kangas left (or retired) NBR lost a beat.
