CNBC tries out 'Decabox' display during Nasdaq outage

Well, kids, if you haven't seen this visual dizzy-fest, you might ought to have a drinkie first.... During last Thursday's outage at the Nasdaq exchange, CNBC tried a new tactic--to cram even more on their screen than they have already--10 separate images of reporters, anchors, and analysts, along with their usual catch-it-if-you-can figures, running totals, stock tickers, and countdown clocks.

Sure, fine, get all the angles, talk to anybody with background or newsworthy fodder for the topic, but 10 people *all at once*?? I mean, I like CNBC when I get to watch it, but this is sensory whacky-ness bordering on the cuckoo cocoa-puffs. I remember when they tried to do 5 or 6 people on the same screen during Donny Deutsch's old prime-time show 'The Big Idea'. You couldn't hear anyone for the noise. I guess that little experience wasn't enough for them.

The stills of the 2 rounds of 'Decabox' are on both linkies, if you dare.

And I thought Bloomberg's old original screen layout made my eyes tired.....
