CNN anchor arrested on meth charges

I demand a search of Nancy Grace's belongings now. :D

Meth is a beast of a drug. I know, I've been clean off it for seven years.

But so has Fergie. But the one thing people don't understand about meth is that many users are people who live on virtually on-call, 24 hour schedules. Many people with two or more jobs use it just to keep up with the bills.

Meth has it's symptoms, nervousness, fidgityness and sores that appear and seem to get worse. And if you are up at all hours at an area long closed, like Richard Quest was. I personally never had that experience, but I could clean the house like a demon on it.

What got me out of it was watching my friends then fall apart on it, both in looks and their bodies. And it's not an easy drug to detect. You'd be surprised how many "successful" "go-getting" people need the stuff to keep the hours they do.

But there is always an inevitable breakdown and I came damn close to it.

I wish Richard Quest well and hope he recovers well. Although this kind of publicity may cost him his job, there is always a rainbow in the end. They say the road of excess leads to the Palace of Wisdom (but by experience. I KNOW there are always overlooked shortcuts.)

And yes, my username is Bongwater. More of a self-humbling thing than a flaming thing. Just an indicator that I have been there and I am no stranger to any of it (even though I personally don't think marijuana should be criminalized any more than alcohol, which is a hell of a lot worse in my opinion.) Meth, heroin and crack/cocaine are the demons we REALLY need to be fighting. Because I KNOW what happens at THAT level. I've been there. I survived, recovered and lived to tell about it. Which is more than some people I knew who's graves I visit now and then...

The meth part bothers me a lot but what really got me was what they found in his boot and what he had tied around his neck down to his "Joy Department".

I wonder if he's gay? We had a similar situation in Chicago and when the gay community found out who it was (let's just say he was TWO minorities) they got it all hushed up. It's sad in a way cause if he had come clean he could've helped a lot of people by saying "Look I was on meth, and now I'm clean."

He still works here as if nothing happened, but it's really not that big of a deal as meth arrests here are not an uncommon thing.

Hell, I have those symptoms but Im not on meth (whew! Couldnt afford it)...especially the fidgity and nervousness....but then that's probably caused by my meds I take for chronic insomnia and anxiety (and been fighting depression for years; inherited from my faternal grandmother's side of the family)...Cymbalta helps but that's what keeps me a awake...so I have to take Ambien or similar and Ive now gotten a resistance to them...I take TWO Ambien and still dont sleep......sure doesnt help!!...no sores except those left by a girl friend (ok ok, kidding on that one....even though the last lover I got tested for everything and I MEAN EVERYTHING after we last "did it"....especially when I found out of her constant bed hopping with the frequency of a cheap ham radio! :)
