https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/n...s-package-found-at-time-warner-center-1154642

Wow this is the second Reported incident this week where a media outlet was targeted.

The bomb, which contained wires, has now been removed by police and taken to a remote location to be examined for clues. White powder was also found.
CNN's Time Warner Center office was evacuated on Wednesday in response to the discovery of a suspicious package containing an explosive device, the network's journalists reported on air.

"The New York bomb squad unit right in front of the building, they are taking this very seriously," morning anchor Jim Sciutto said. The package was found inside the mailroom, after it was delivered.

The device, which contained wires, has now been removed from the building and will be taken to a remote location to be inspected for clues. Authorities hope it can be closely examined before it detonates.

NYPD commissioner James O'Neill also said at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon that an envelope containing white power was found in the packaging, which is being investigated and tested.

A few days ago WTTG a Fox O&O in Washington DC has to deal with a shooting near their offices. Now a reported bomb under investigation has hit CNN.

Had a similar scare in our building last week.

A company upstairs apparently fired an employee, and he made some threats on his way out the door.
Heavy cop presence for over a week.

Update one of the Suspects has been identified for sending bombs to CNN and now this New Allegation that a bomb threat has went to Sacramento and San Francisco

A man is in custody in connection with the attempted bombings of a media outlet and critics of President Donald Trump.

The suspect has been identified as 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc, of Aventura, Florida. He was arrested at an auto parts store in the nearby city of Plantation. Court records show Sayoc has a history of arrests for theft, illegal possession of steroids and a 2002 charge of making a bomb threat.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Sayoc will face five federal crimes including interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives and threats against a former president. Sayoc faces up to 48 years in prison if convicted.

FBI Director Christopher Wray told reporters Friday that the FBI obtained Sayoc's fingerprint from an envelope containing an improvised explosive device sent to U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters. Even though Sayoc is in custody, New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill warned, "There might be more packages out there."

Sayoc was convicted in 2014 for grand theft and misdemeanor theft of less than $300, and in 2013 for battery. In 2004, he faced several felony charges for possession of a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid. He also had several arrests for theft in the 1990s.

He filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2012. His name is also listed on business records tied to dry cleaning and catering businesses. Records show he was born in New York and according to an online resume he attended college in North Carolina.

Moments after Sayoc's arrest, aerial shots out of Plantation, Florida, showed FBI agents covering and towing a white van. Before the van was covered, cameras caught a glimpse of what appeared to be pro-Trump decals on the van.

Authorities allege Sayoc mailed 13 IEDs to CNN and Democratic Party figures, including former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris.

According to a criminal complaint, multiple mailings included photographs of the target-recipients marked with a red “X.”

Now another bomb has been reported at SFO and thats under investigation too and they wonder if its connected to a bomb sent to Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGO) -- The FBI has removed a suspicious package mailed to Bay Area billionaire Democrat Tom Steyer that was intercepted at a Burlingame post office.

It then was taken to a police gun range in South San Francisco near the airport, where it was analyzed by experts. It was then transported out of the facility around 2 p.m.

FBI sources tell ABC7 that the device will be rendered safe and then preserved for evidence. It will then be transferred for analysis at FBI headquarters.

Explosives technicians were on scene earlier Friday at the USPS location on Rollins Road in Burlingame after receiving reports of the suspicious package.

There is no immediate threat to public safety but officials say to avoid the area of Rollins Road.

A source says that the package indeed contained some kind of device.

It's the latest in a string of potentially explosive devices sent to prominent Democrats and the media.

With all the new packages intercepted Friday morning, we now count at least more than a dozen that have been sent out around the country, including to Sen. Kamala Harris.

The suspect, 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc, is a Florida man whose van is plastered with stickers of the president, the American flag and the logo of the Republican National Committee. He was taken into custody on Friday in Florida.

Now the updates get crazier

A sprawling U.S. mail sorting facility near the Opa-locka airport — the size of five football fields — took center stage Thursday when federal investigators discovered that at least one of the bomb-filled packages targeting an array of Democratic figures passed through the location.

Where that package originated, however, remained unclear because the Opa-locka postal facility sorts hundreds of thousands of packages daily that come in and out of South Florida. The bigger mystery was who plotted the series of mailings and why.

The package in question is likely the one that ended up Wednesday at the Sunrise congressional office of U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, according to a federal law enforcement official familiar with the probe.

That package was originally sent to the office of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in the Washington, D.C., area, but it did not get delivered and was sent back to the return address, which was listed as the congresswoman’s office in Sunrise. Before it got there, it was rerouted through the giant Opa-locka mail sorting facility, the official said.

That development capped a frenetic day for the FBI-led counter-terrorism team leading a nationwide search. The packages containing crudely fashioned devices that looked like pipe bombs have now been recovered in South Florida, New York , the Washington, D.C., area, California and Delaware. They were sent to at least 10 prominent Democratic politicians and other vocal critics of President Donald Trump from presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to actor Robert De Niro.

The U.S Postal Service directed investigators to Opa-locka after reviews of mail scans showed some of the devices had found their way through the massive sorting facility.

On Friday, the FBI confirmed that an 11th package, similar in appearance to the others, was “recovered in Florida” and addressed to Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey. But in the brief news update, the agency did not say whether the manila envelope, which also listed Wasserman Schultz on the return address, was processed at the Opa-locka mail facility.

It was also reported that a 12th package, addressed to James R. Clapper Jr., the former director of national intelligence, was intercepted at a New York City mail facility. The package was addressed to Clapper at CNN’s news offices in New York.

The bombing devices — clearly aiming to shake up the political landscape just two weeks before the midterm elections — were so poorly constructed that at least one source involved in the investigation told The Miami Herald that they could not detonate. Whether they were intentionally designed that way was not known.
