CNN Fires Rick Sanchez

Sanchez is a jerk. Watched him in Miami for years on WSVN and all I can say is once a jerk always a jerk. It's all about him and not the news, hence the name of his show "Rick's List". That being said, CNN must've been looking for a reason to let him go because this was really quick. Maybe they got tired of reprimanding him and his on air apologies. I think he would fit in well on the Daily Show for comedy bits.
How's this for ironic, on the way to the ballgame Friday I noticed a sign in front of TBS advertising a Rick Sanchez book signing at CNN Center. I'm guessing that was cancelled.

I for one like Rick and enjoyed his show on CNN. He is entertaining and for me a terrific talent. CNN has lost it's way and what ashame. I worked 13 years at Turner and sad to see it go down hill. TCM is the best thing going for the networks now.

I also enjoyed his show, but what he did shows very poor judgment on his part. In today's media environment, where everything someone says instantly goes everywhere, you have to be especially careful, and he should have known that as well as anyone. Second, you don't publicly criticize the hand that feeds you.

I would have fired him, too.

I liked his show too....but this incident as well as his commentary the day before about bullying being a made up media word..though, he may have been referring to cyber-bullying but even still, his whole attitude towards bullying seemed like he was calling it out as being a BS issue. from that moment, I just got the idea that he was probably a jock bully in high school. Speculation, of course.

Wonder where he'll go next.

He struck me as a self absorbed blow hard. But seems like a bigger question would be what was CNN thinking in putting him on more and more. Clearly the worlds most important network..unquote..felt his approach and banter would give them results. Yet their sad numbers, lost direction, firing of their own president for lousy results, makes me wonder who's in charge and do they have any idea (in new york) what their audience expects, wants, and supports in loyal viewship?
Wait. That remark resembles much of our thoughts about radio execs too.

He was a tool. Good move to get rid of him. Everytime I saw him I just waited for the next screw up. Guy has a major attitude.

I saw this guy a grand total of one time, for about two minutes, on the TV in a locker room. My only thought was "wow, what a ******!" Funny he got canned for being a ****** less than a month later.

And that was before the debut of the new CNN show featuring Client No. 9...
