CNN Is Turning Into MSNBC On Weekends

Any word from MSNBC what they'll show when they finally run out of prisons to document? ::)

MSNBC is the worst for weekend breaking coverage, since much of their coverage consists of talking to selected people over the phone for their thoughts while they show the same video on an endless loop.

And Fox News seems to have more weekend programming. ???

Not to say Fox News never tried non-news weekend programming - "The 1/2 Hour News Hour, anyone"?

Uh...all three "news" networks have plenty of non-news programming - on weeknights and weekends, i.e.: Hannity, Piers Morgan, Rachel Maddow, Mike Huckabee, etc.

CNN had and still has the largest committment to news programming. Though I have no proof, I suspect that CNN's ratings have suffered at least in part because they have offerred LESS non-news programs than the other two. If you've noticed, they are often the highest rated of the 3 when there is a huge news story (election coverage, natural disasters, etc), but hit the skids when the news is "slow."

They've also signed Tony Bourdain, and I assume his shows will be of a similar format
to those he did for The Travel Channel.
