CNN: LOWEST RATINGS IN 15 YEARS

I've now seen three of the CNN networks - the original CNN, CNN International and CNN En Español. I find CNN International rather dull compared to the original CNN or BBC World. CNN En Español is a whole other story - every time I've ever tuned in, it's fluff. Way worse than regular CNN.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. CNN is a GREAT brand. It is too bad that it is being destroyed, mostly among those inside the network. They need leadership, they need someone to point it in the right direction. Instead of just shuffling anchors and re-treading the same old same old.

As usual the closed-minded has come out in full force in this thread accusing media outlets other than FOX News Channel as "liberal", "socialist", and "communist". ::) If you only knew what those ideologies really mean...

Anyways, CNN is lost its course by instead of leading in news provision became a follower. They should stick to news and leave the opinion shows to MSNBC, FNC, and HLN. They should provide just news and documentaries on current issues. That is what BBC and its multiple channels does best at and CNN could easily take some cues from them on that.

There may be something to adding TMZ programming to HLN. Combine the forces and create a celebrity news channel, which HLN is already pretty much. Combine the forces, and this could be a winner. However, it will cause CNN to pay for stories, something that may be a bugaboo.

If TMZ is going to be No.1 all-Tabloid Channel in the USA that means Harvey Levin would have to hack every American Celebrity's Phone in LA, NYC, and DC to get the stories they want to run 24 hours a day. That means he has to resemble Rupert Murdoch's British Tabloid Operation's. I don't see how TMZ Network will remain ethical in the USA.

I remember Harvey Levin as a local reporter on KCBS 2 News in 1994-1997. But Now he is bound to be the next Rupert Murdoch.

Not to be picky, but how is Howard Levin bound to be the "next Rupert Murdoch?"

Levin is a reporter, Murdoch is a businessman. As far as I know, Murdoch has never worked as a reporter, or been on air, unless he was being interviewed. And I'm sure Murdoch never personally hacked any phones. He has people to do that.

True I know Murdoch was an editor in the early days of his career before he became a businessman. I know Levin was a law school grad before he went to KCBS2 in LA. I know Brooks and CNN's Piers Morgan were the ones that directed the hacking while Murdoch was looking at News Corps accounting books with the board of Director. OK my argument is still We need to put Harvey Levin on the Microscope so TMZ and HLN does not resort to tactics that got News of the World Busted by UK authorities.

Harvey Levin is trash to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up in legal trouble in the near future because his antics are only getting worse as time goes by...

I agree with you on the socialist and communist labels because that's going too far, imo. However, I disagree with you on the liberal label. Some outlets such as MSNBC are outright proud to be liberal or to have a liberal lean. It's not surprising that people would accuse them to be that way.
