CNN/Starguide/downloading cast into Audio Vault

Our Starguide receiver has crashed on us. We use this for CNN feed.
Can anyone suggest a way of download automatically the CNN top of
hour cast to Audio Vault - automatically...or better yet grabbing from
their site using radiospider program and loading into Vault. Would like
to have this option when Starguide goes down.

Is CNN really LIVE as they say they are? We hit it at the top every hour.
Play the spots right after 2 minute feed from dish. I'd like to move spots
elsewhere in hour. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Couple o' ways here-- all will let you record the feed to air when you want.

1. Put your TV thru the board feeding Audiovault. Record in realtime.

2. Do the same, except into your editor for cutting. Record to Audiovault.

3. Get yourself an All In Wonder ATI video card for the PC. It allows your television cable to plug directly into the computer, therefore your PC is now a tv. Even lets you record the a/v straight from the television into avi form. This is a great tool for video editing, but could also be beneficial to those going for a tighter stack of hardware... since it can eliminate the need for a real tv in the room.

Unless I totally don't understand your problem. This is also possible.

You should first check w/ CNN to see if there is an alternate means of delivery available for client stations such as yours. If there is a newscast available for download from the web site, you best bet is to grab the file and play the audio back directly from that PC into your audio board. This will save you some time from having to archive the newscast and then transfer it to Audio Vault.

Yes, CNN Radio is actually live at the top and bottom of the hour 24/7. The top of the hour and bottom of the hour newscasts can be RSS'd from the private affiliate website, along with CNN in 60 and Special Reports. (just about everything is available RSS from the CNN Radio affiliate site) The newscasts are posted a few minutes after they are complete. The top (which ends at :05) gets there by about 07 or 08, and the bottom (which ends at :32) is posted by about :34 or so. I would think you can set up the RSS feed to put the file where Audio Vault can go get it. RSS is automatic, and as the name says - simple.
