CNN to add new bureaus, double US operations

Uh...not so much.

They are basically low-paid, one-man-bands - nee - "Video Journalists" with a digicam and desktop editing software working out of an affiliates studios. When it is big news, a CNN star-reporter will come running in to save the day.

Local stations have tried (and are trying, ie: Gannett) it, with varying results. ABC News tried it, oversees. Didn't turn out so great and is being scaled back.

How this is any better or different than an editor back in Atlanta monitoring an affiliate's feed I don't know, but it's being hailed as the next big thing.

Only, not so much.

Or it could be they don't want to get caught by the next invasion of Georgia....(as Foghorn Leghorn would say that's a joke, son.)
