CNN's New Hire: Boxing Analyst Max Kellerman

Because American Morning is in such ratings trouble, CNN is hoping that the addition of Max Kellerman will give it a one-two punch.

Kellerman, best known as a boxing analyst for HBO, has been hired as a regular contributor, and "will provide his passionate perspective and insightful commentary on news related to sports and pop cultural issues" on "American Morning" as well as "other CNN programs" (John King, USA, anyone?).

And you though NBC made questionable moves. I just do not get this one at all. This makes former ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith's appearances on MSNBC and, most recently, Fox News, seem legitimate.

I don't think CNN actually hired the late Rev. Falwell as a contributor. Hehad conducted a couple of interviews with the network, however: one in 2006, and again the following year, roughly one year before his death. But he was never on the CNN payroll, that I know of.
