Heard Courtney Kelly doing afternoons yesterday, she sounds great! Will she finally get the fulltime afternoon drive slot?
 
She's been there for years. She's always sounded good but the station has such a generic sound after AM drive. Would they go with two females back to back, both good, but nothing to differentiate one from the other? There was also talk of the new PD possibly doing the shift himself.

Coast sounds ok. What they need to do is get rid of that morning show. This station use to be better. But ever since budget cuts it sucks. They need to spend money.... They are on air more on weekends than during the week.

They do have some serious rotation/libarary concerns that they need to address as well, too many times the artist seperation and/or daypart seperation needs to be lengthened (Michael McDonald 2 times within an hour and 1/2 is not good). You can hear the same songs in almost the same order on Monday at 10am, tuesday at 1p, Wednesday at 11, Thursday at 3 and Friday at 2p. Also, the Noon time request show has about the same 20 songs running thru it on a daily basis....
 
Musically they're all over the place and they add new music later than Lite which is unusual considering you would think a Liter AC would be slower to add. They probably don't get many requests for the noon hour anyway hence the repetition. As far as the morning show in spite of past explanations of image changes when they've changed mornings it's all been about saving money. Barring a total blowout even if they replaced Tad and Brian regardless of the replacements they're not going to be a morning drive force in the market. I still think they need a female voice on that show either with the two of them or only one. Those guys sound like they're doing radio to please themselves regardless of the format.
