Coast Radio in Peterhead, Scotland shut down last month

This station used to be called Waves and lasted a long time as a "labour of love" for its owner, one Kenny King.

A few years ago, Kenny retired and the station passed through various out-of-town owners who didn't succeed with it, and it actually went dark for a period before coming back under the name Coast.

It doesn't surprise me that this has happened, as it didn't seem to do well once Kenny King left - it was never a sustainable business on its own two feet, other than through the largesse and free labour provided by its former owner.

Although this station has "closed" a few times already and made a miraculous recovery, I would imagine that it has now finally run out of road.

Here is Kenny King giving a little tour and an interview about Waves Radio back in 2020:

Thanks a lot for the additional info about the station and Kenny. Do you know when it came back and how long it was back as Coast Radio? I only just started listening to it this year.
