"Coast To Coast" gone from WPRO?

Heard something called "Red Eye Radio" this morning around 4:30am instead of "Coast to Coast". Website still says Coast To Coast is scheduled for that time slot. WPRV 790 is listed as the RI Affiliate for "Red Eye Radio". I wonder if this was a mistake or some sort of Cumulus mandate from on high.

That being said, if it has indeed been dropped, will WHJJ or someone else pick up Coast to Coast?

I think Coast to Coast would be a good fit for WHJJ. It would actually be the first time I would look forward to tuning in HJJ overnights since the days of Talknet back in 80's.

Red Eye Radio is now on their staff page as the show being carried from 1 - 5 a.m.

This is the show that was formerly known as the Midnight Radio Network. Ironic that WPRO has picked it up (other than the fact the decsion may have been made from higher-ups within Cumulus) because many have commented that the "new" Red Eye show is not that good.

IMHO, if this was a Cumulus mandate, I think that WPRO will also be forced to carry the Mike Huckabee Noon - 3 p.m. show when it debuts.

When does Mike Huckabee start?......I'm wondering the same thing BUT we forget about WPRV that Mike can easily be dumped on.

Red Eye radio began a couple yrs back with Doug McIntyre as host and stations like WRKO and WABC
began to run it. McIntyre then went to KABC mornings and two guys who had been doing the
Midnight Radio show took over Red Eye. MacIntyre would inject a station's frequency as a "flight number",
as in "We have a caller from Boston, Flight 680..."

Wiki:
>>Red Eye Radio is a talk radio program currently hosted by Eric Harley and Gary McNamara. The program is syndicated nationwide by Cumulus Media Networks and originates from WBAP in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The show traces its history through several predecessors, beginning with Bill Mack's overnight truck show in 1969.The name Red Eye Radio came from Cumulus Media Networks' existing overnight talk show, which at the time of Cumulus's acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting was being hosted by Doug McIntyre on weeknights and Marc Germain on weekends.

Note: It lists WPRV, not WPRO, and also WCRN Worc (which now has Jon Grayson Overnight America).
WRKO is not listed but does def. have Redeye

Having listened to bits and pieces of "Coast to Coast" while dial surfing last night.....I only noticed "Coast" gone during the 4AM hour....during which time 630 appeared to be simulcasting that God-Awful "Red Eye" talk show that 790 airs.

Having just been to the 630 web site, and seeing "Red Eye" featured from 1 to 5 am.....I wonder if "Coast could possibly be moving over to 790?

WHJJ 920 does a Hannity replay at 1 am acc to their schedule; since they're owned by Clear Channel
and there's the whole CC/Premiere connection, maybe C2C could emerge on 920...?
In Boston it's run on CC's WXKS 1200.

Just FYI, at this moment (Saturday, 3:26am), Coast to Coast AM is running on WPRO.

Yes I heard it., Then I went to listen to it online from WFLA Orlando for about 4 hours. Not that it makes any sense. But I did it anyway.

Good move. It's the first thing HJJ has done right in a long time. This will be a big loss for WPRO. That Red eye radio show is pure crap. Whoever made this decision for WPRO dropped the ball.

This really does seem to be a bad programming move on PRO’s part. CtoC has never been more popular from what I can tell. It’s the main reason I have PRO on my clock radio as I like to listen to CtoC when I wake up in the middle of night and then have to suffer through PRO’s morning show. This has to be part of a bigger plan.

I too sense a major shakeup. We know Andrew is on borrowed time.Huckabee a very high possibility but who will go?

Figured as much--the CC/Premiere connection (as with WXKS and other stations)
Prob started this week; WHJJ site says
1a-5a Coast To Coast AM

Well I've got at least one show I'll listen to on WHJJ. I liked Coast to Coast most nights, I wonder who was behind that decision to cut it from WPRO ???

Why do you assume the move was WPRO's? This could just as easily be a case of Clear Channel taking "Coast to Coast" "in-house", as they previously did with Rush both here and in Boston, and previously with "Coast to Coast" in Boston.

I live in Rehoboth. Too bad I can't get hjj after sunset. Amazing since the tower is not far away. What defunct Canadiam am are they protecting?

920 CJCH Halifax, NS was probably one of them that is now history. There may be others that are still on though. Up here in the Brockton area, I'm pretty sure that I hear a Canadian playing country at night most of the time, probably CKNX Wingham, ON.
