Coast

As critical as I have been in the past, I thought I would mention that for a low budget station it sounds much better lately. I think Toby is even hosting some local event, something Matty never did.

It is amazing that the sponsor of such an event would pay to fly Toby up to Providence. The imaging and voiceovers are definitely more consistent, and the music mix is decent, but the Premium Choice jocks are just terrible.

For listeners who want nothing more than the music Coast is fine and unfortunately that's what radio is fast becoming. Companies like Clear Channel have been successful at bringing listeners to the point where they don't care about anything but the music. I don't see anything on their website about Toby making an appearance. You'd think they would promote it online. If you mean that "meet Toby Knapp" section that just beings you to his web page but it doesn't mean he's coming to town.

I wish that they would bring back the TM jingles that they got a few years ago. They played them for roughly 6 months and then canned them. It was "Capitol Mix" from Mix 107.3 in DC and they sounded GREAT! B101 still has jingles, why can't Coast? :(

Listening today, I heard a voiceover that promoted Toby Knapp's appearance at the Biltmore. So indeed, someone is paying for him to make an appearance in Providence.

Despite my hatred of out-of-market voicetracking, I have to give Toby credit. He has worked at getting to know this market. After the storm hit in early September, he mentioned places hard hit by the storm, including Portsmouth and Middletown.
