Coffey to return to WTPA.... Steve Knight to WTPA?

I just read on Pennlive.com that Ed Coffey may be coming back to WTPA.... Another name on that board is Steve Knight from channel 21. I really miss Steve on the radio, I was a big Starview 92 fan and I would love to hear him again. The rumor has him doing mornings with Ed or afternoons and replacing randy rock. They have to do something about mornings at WTPA, their horrible.

Anybody else hearing this rumor? While we're at it..... can we bring back Uncle Igor too?

Ed has a non-compete with MIX that goes until August. Either they're promoting this for the next several months, or he got out of the non-compete. I'd be interested to hear which is true.

Forgive me in advance, since being away from your market for over 10 years. Ed Coffey was great when hooked up with Jammin' Jeff Kauffman. Where's he at now? When you think WTPA, you think of Ed Coffey. Hope its true. You also mention another name from the past, Uncle Igor. What has he been up to?

I sure do. In fact I followed him on air when I filled in for the vacationing Leigh something-or-other (Garrett??). I used to do Saturday nights (the Saturday Night Special) and Sunday afternoons at GRX way back in 1987.

Yes, definitely cool. Especially during a huge thunderstorm that knocked us off the air. Sunset across the cityscape was pretty good, too... Parking along The Block... ah, the good old days. They later moved out to Belvedere Square which was pretty nice, too.

Just received an email from WTPA from the mailing list I signed up on many years back. States be watching for a new morning show debuting Monday Morning. No mention of who, but Chris James has been moved now to the 2-6 slot.

If ya turned on your radio and dialed in 93.5, you'd hear promos with Coffey, Jammer and Amy playing a few times an hour.

They're all back on Monday. Thank God for some good radio in Central PA.

Ed was on WGRX during the '80s. He'd moved on to WTPA by 1987/1988.

And, last I knew GRX was country. Still the same?

Not sure, but it no longer has a "Froggy" Country format.

I'm 100% positive Jim Cook and either The Captain or Crockett had a morning show on Q-106 or during the Hot 105.7 era, I believe it was near the end of Q-106 though. I'm not saying thats where Cook mostly was though.
