Well, I respect that you are one of those people that likes music in the morning. KVET hasn't been that kind of station in many years and now that it is, most people don't seem to care for the playlist. It would be one thing if KVET had been a generic morning zoo kind of station, but it wasn't. KVET was unique in many ways and was a part of the local Austin culture. Personally, if I want to listen to music, I will do it on my iPod. I tune into morning radio to be entertained and informed.mrh1960 said:Being new to Austin, I probably should keep my opinions to myself since I am a "new" KVET listener and don't know the history of the station. But, being from Houston where the three country stations KKBQ, KKHT and KILT are really bad...I found KVET to be a nice change. I enjoy the playlist because I don't hear Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and all of the other overplayed "country wanna be" artists as well as the really old and boring stuff played on KKHT. I also like the fact that the songs are not sped up to the point of being unrecognizable. I enjoy hearing the Star Spangled Banner and the Eyes of Texas everyday at noon...and I enjoy hearing music in the morning without all of the yak that the Houston morning shows churn out.jras20 said:bobke said:Someone has done a very good job of taking a good product and ruining it. I dont work in the industry but as a longtime radio listener I know that KVET FM now stinks. Great job whoever you are. You should be real proud of yourself.
I agree 100% Not just the morning show, but the whole playlist in the day stinks.
I have to disagree with some of the posts on here on one thing: I don't think the playlist sucks all day. The Roadhouse Show in the evenings is well done, mostly because it is programmed by Chris Mosser and not the PD.
