Colerain football on 1480

I saw this on the Enquirer blog. Its about time some station picks up a super high school program like this. Kudos to them. I wont hear oldies for 2 hours but I wont say nothing bad about that because old Puff is a nice dragon! ;)

No need to pat yourself on the back, Rog, we know you're Draggin'.

Wrong again Jeff, as usual. I guarantee I'm not Rodge. But we know you're Jeff, aint that so? I will refrain from saying anything bad about you because Puff is a nice dragon. Although, what arrogance calling yourself Moneymaker. Wouldnt you agree? Really......

Ugh! Who wants football games on our one and only Oldies station? I can't even pick them up in Batavia anymore since they changed to 1480 and if they start doing sports, I'm not sure I'll even want to.

Agree. If a station is a music station, let the hits keep on coming 24/7...no sports, no car talk. That said, I understand how some of this other programming is 'easy money' and can keep some stations afloat. That's reality, but it doesn't mean I like it. Hopefully they are keeping the olides rolling on their web stream while the non-music stuff is on 1480.

Usually the advertisers demand that the stream be a simulcast of the on air signal as they are looking for maximum exposure.

I think the car talk can be a good fit. Use oldies music as bumpers, etc.

Heck, if its that big a problem, put it back on 1160.

I agree that high school football can be a good sell on the new 1160 since its current talk format is very much boorish.....however the night signal may be an issue. Keep the oldies(without the sports) on 1480..and try to bring back Cool Bobby B if possible. I'm surprised 1160's owners didn't consider CCM or soul gospel (or a soul gospel/southern gospel mix.)

1480 signal is incredibly weak north of Dayton...far worse than 1160 several years ago.

How much longer will WCIN calls remain there befor WDJO calls are approved by FCC?

From where i sit.......
CCM is a great format and is what i'd call "narrow casting" and on a couple of FM sticks in the market.
Soul Gospel? Don't want to bump heads with 1230 or 1320. Odd, both urban religious signals use the same numbers in a different order.
H.S. football works and you just have to broadcast schools that sit under the nighttime contour.

When do the Colerain games start? What time are they broadcast? I do know 1480 will carry The Ohio State Buckeyes this season.
Should be an interesting year.
