I wonder if anyone has turned the dial to WRAM FM 89.3?

That's out of SUNY Farmingdale, Farmingdale, NY with an output of 100 watts.

If anyone picks it up, leave some feedback.

There is no such station licensed as WRAM at all (besides WRAM-AM/Monmouth, IL). If they are running a 100 watt station on 89.3, they are doing it illegally. In fact, no station should be running at 100 watts at 89.3 in Farmingdale, as that would be short spaced to WNYU-FM/NYC on the 1st adjacent of 89.1. They would also be short spaced to WRHU-FM/Hempstead & WKCR-FM/NYC on the 3rd adjacents of 88.7 & 89.9 respectivley.

FWIW, Farmingdale's website lists a WFNY @ 89.3 - Guess they decided to "change" the calls due to 92.3/Free FM taking them.<P ID="signature">______________

100 Watts??? The signal is over modulated, has a hum, and can't cover their own campus!

I laugh at that!!!

A part 15... At 100 MILLIwatts, perhaps?

I believe their signal is around 5-10 watts, as it covers a decent area, but fades not too far away. It can be picked up in fringe areas, like huntington, and west islip if conditions are right! Their signal patern is non-directional, and their antenna is not high enough as the signal picket fences as you become 1 mile away from the campus. Please correct me if i'm wrong on any of this information! I used to work at WRAM (formerly WFNY) and it was a strange experience, and it seemed that they had an engineer that had no idea what he was doing!
