Colts/Pats game won't be Televised in the NoCAL/Houston area

Instead of showing the battle of Undefeateds, The City of Houston ends up getting The Texans playing the Raiders, Ditto for the people living out in the Bay Area (SF/SJ/OAK). That does suck because The Game of the Week will be shown to everybody across america-That's 93% of all america, and we get the bottom line. It's time for action, Get the Sunday Ticket from Comcast or Hang Out at The Sports Bar. I wished that game would be shown on NBC, instead of the Cowboys.

Now you know how we New Yorkers felt last week, and basically every other week with two teams in town...

The Colts and Patriots WILL AIR in the Bay Area. Why? Because their is almost no chance in hell that the Raiders sell-out. They had problems selling out earlier this year against the Browns, a team with a lot more loyal fan base. So for them to sell-out for the Texans...

So the Bay Area more than likely will get to see the Super Bowl...

I remember a couple weeks ago when CBS carried Patriots-Cowboys, there was such an uproar that KCBS here in L.A. couldn't carry that game, due to them carrying Raiders-Chargers (which turned out to be a bit more competitive than NE-Dallas) thanks to the NFL secondary market rule. However, that Oakland-San Diego game finished early, and CBS did switch everyone else to New England-Dallas with 10 minutes left in the game. The idiots in the local sports media never bother to explain the actual reason why Los Angeles is considered part of the Chargers territory, just giving some vague information without explaining in detail.

Luckily for Southern California this week, we will get the Colts-Pats game, which follows Chargers-Vikings locally, as CBS has the doubleheader this week. I just hope that Indy-New England is more competitive than New England-Dallas

Apparently, Los Raiders will not sell out McAffee by Thursday, and the blackout in the NoCAL area will be very emminent. Neighboring cities along The Bay Area (Fresno, Sacramento, Monterey, et. al) would probably get this Sunday's game against the sorry-ass Texans.

...or Washington Vs New England. What a freakin' joke that was! Nothing grinds my gears more than having to hear Gil Santos, the radio voice of the Patriots. I swear he has red/while/silver/blue pom poms in the booth with him. Ugh! :(

I expected more from the 'Skins but after the way they performed (or not performed) against the Pats they made the Dolphins look fantastic...and the Fins are still winless!

I guess you haven't some of these other homer announcers in places like Cincinnati, Chicago, Oakland, and a few other NFL towns. They're everywhere...some are just worse than others. Personally, I haven't heard enough of Santos to comment.

This is news WHY????????

If the two games are playing AT THE SAME TIME and the Coliseum is sold out 72 hours before kickoff, then it's only natural that the Colts/Pats game won't be shown in the Bay Area.

Look at it this way. You won't have any problems with lunch. :D

Although this happens to be the most hyped game of the season, The Patriots and The Colts are AFC contenders. On the other hand, I'd like to see the Dolphins play the Rams in Toilet Bowl XLII-Ironically, that's NOT gonna happen. Somebody's gotta win. Whoever loses this battle can forget about his job.

I see they have Hartford/New Haven listed as airing San Diego @ Minnesota. The website of WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford has us listed as airing Cincinnati @ Buffalo. I guess that's the punishment of the Giants having a bye week and the Jets playing on FOX. :(

GO COLTS!!

Colts/Pats game WILL be Televised in the NoCAL area !

Updated today:
http://the506.com/nflmaps/2007-09-CBS2.html

KPIX/San Francisco, KOVR in Sacramento and KION/Monterey are now scheduled to air NE/IND this Sunday afternoon, in anticipation of a blackout over one day before the sellout deadline! (Of course, upon a sellout, as soon as pigs stop flying, and the Raiders game will be shown as originally scheduled.) In KOVR's case, they opted to carry NE/IND, as affiliates in 'secondary markets' have that option.

Still feel sorry for the folks in Houston who will miss out on this one... Poor Gus Johnson and Steve Taskchair... I mean, I can't pity Cleveland as much, at least Derek Anderson has been decent this year.

I'm in Houston, and yes, the situation stinks as much as the Texans. And unfortunately the adjacent market CBS stations--KBTX in Bryan (which has a viewable OTA signal at my house) and KFDM in Beaumont also miss out. They are probably the only three CBS affils in the country that won't have Pats-Colts. Sports bars in Houston are going to make a killing this Sunday.

In a perfect world CBS and Fox affils would be allowed to show alternate games on their digital subchannels. They could sell the same local spots for each game, and since the network commercials are (with rare exceptions) identical across all regional telecasts, there is really no audience loss...overall.

I'm hoping for a quickly played Texans-Raiders game against a lengthy Pats-Colts game, so we can at least be switched over in the fourth quarter.

Let's not forget the fine folks in Cleveland... Also, according to the NFL map, a few areas in California are still scheduled to carry HOU/OAK instead of NE/IND.

Apparently the Fresno CBS affil will now carry Pats-Colts. The map hasn't been updated yet. And I betcha KHSL Chico/Redding makes the switch as well.

Instead of Jim Nantz & Dr. Phil, We'll be getting Gus Johnson & Steve Tasker to cover The Hou/Oak showdown over at The Coliseum; Expect this game to be broadcast in Lo-Def. Gus & Steve has been to every single Texan game. I'd rather be watching "Scarface" (Uncensored) instead of this crappy game, but I'll be heading on out to SRO instead. I don't think KHOU (Ch.11) will broadcast "The" Game of the Week on its HD sub-channels, but It MUST carry The Texans, and the Pats/Colts game would've been shown if We lost out to L.A in getting the 32nd team.

Neither will Cleveland

The only DMAs not getting Patriots-Colts are Cleveland, Houston, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Chico/Redding and Eureka.

Cleveland has Seahawks-Browns on Fox at 4:05 ET. Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur must carry the Texans game per NFL rules (Beaumont/Port Arthur is a secondary market). Chico/Redding and Eureka are staying with the Raiders for now.

CBS has told its Bay Area and Salinas/Monterey stations to expect a blackout.

Sacramento, Salinas/Monterey and Fresno have been switched to Patriots-Colts. In fact, Sacramento and Salinas/Monterey are within the blackout zone as their signals get to within 75 miles of Oakland.
