Columbia Fall Ratings

The real story: country took a header - COS down half a share, but WWNU losing half their 12+ ratings and now sitting comfortably at a 1.4 share (getting crushed by the Mexican AM station! Nice going, Double O!). At least the classic country outlet (that you torpedoed) stayed steady at a 2.3.

Any other observations? I just threw out one to get the ball rolling.

I wonder if Double O will rename WWNU (NEW 92) Kicks 92! The ratings are bad!

I said last year that country music was and is in big trouble for which I kinda got chewed out a little but I stand by my earler statment. Country music is watered down and mixed with other music so much that it really doesn't sound like country music anymore. Some of the music magazines out of Nashville are starting to state the same thing in the last few months. In my opion this has to reflect on country stations rattings along with all the other factors that is currently killing broadcast radio.

Being a CHR guy, I cringed a bit for Tommy Bo and 'NOK being almost 2 shares off from last fall, and 2 full shares off from last spring. But given the recent changes and circumstances (heritage local morning show dump/syndicated replacement and out of market nights & Seacrest infusion into middays), this had to be somewhat expected, at least in the short term. I wish Tommy Bodean and Kelly Nash all the best at making 'er work, though.

CC seems to think this is the future of contemporary radio...while I don't agree w/that, the station, musically and image-wise, sounds fine.
