Columbia, the state capital of South Carolina, got their firs cable system back in 1978. The system started with 12 channels, then began an expansion to what it is today.
This is from the State Newspaper in July of 1978, their first lineup.

11: WOLO (25, ABC) Columbia

13: CCTV Educational Access/News/Weather (FM background music), also WRDW (12, CBS) Augusta programming
HBO was also an optional channel on the system. This will be a continued series.
