Some observations (of course these days all we can see are Arbitron subscribers):
CC must be really happy with both WCOL (+.3 from an already-lofty 9.7) and WNCI (+1.0) reaching a tie for the top spot at a 10.0 share. Congratulations to JohnBoy Crenshaw and Tony Travatto!
WTVN dropped again, from 7.8 to 7.1, but they always seem to rebound from such drops. E.g, in mid-2011 they dropped two months in a row and ended up at 6.8 in July, but had climbed back up to 10.6 by November.
With a 6.0 WODC 93.3 continues to pull excellent shares with oldies-type Classic Hits, a format I was suggesting for them for years while they kept hammering away with that blasted under-performing Me-Too soft AC format.
Q-FM and the Blitz had minor bumps (.1 and .3 respectively), but still no evidence yet of any rebounds. Q-FM remains a tad below the class A Brew.
102.5 is suddenly back on top of 106.7, and by a full share as the former went 2.5 -> 3.0 and the latter dropped 2.7 -> 2.0. I don't recall exactly when 106.7 went Premium Choice, but I wonder if that hurt?
Jack-FM, which had fallen from 2.1 to 1.7 last month, nudged a tad lower to 1.5. Yet their cume growth continues. In fact, Jack's cume has grown every month since November (except for Holiday, which is an oddball month for obvious reasons). Maybe that signal just doesn't have enough oomph for reliable indoor/office reception in suburban and exurban areas. Of course, there could be lots of other explanations, too. Regardless, I'm glad Radio One is (apparently) being patient here instead of fast on the trigger.
