Columbus Ohio New NBC afillate

Are we to assume, then, that WCMH is still the "regular" NBC affiliate in Columbus? I ask this in light of what happened a few months back in Beaumont, TX, when KBTV switched from NBC to Fox, with the Peacock Network ending up on ABC affiliate KBMT's subchannel 12-2.

Everyone, disregard the headline for this thread. It was sensational at best. A quick tvfool.com callsign search shows this station's "Community Digital" signal barely reaches the Licking County line to the east and people on the west side of Hilliard can barely get it. It is an eastern-directional station with plenty of nulling toward Dayton. WCMH-DT is a Central Ohio regional, omnidirectional signal that covers about 15 or more counties, roughly, with no problem.

Nice try, though, willcail.

So if the station's slogan is "Life in Color", then who was the genius who dreamt up that ugly monochromatic logo?

It seems that WCHM DT owned by General Media passed on NBC Universal Sports. Since that General Media's other NBC affillate(s) carries the network.

WDEM CD coverage area is better than the other analog LPTV stations. W23BZ (GTN23) ERP about 17-20KW.

Or when was the last time any station used the phrase "in color"? If this was 1969, I understand.

A lot of NBC stations are passing on Universal Sports, and with good reason. Unless you give it a lot of bandwidth, it looks like pixelated crap. If you do give it a lot of bandwidth, then the main HD feed looks like pixelated crap.

I know of only one Media-General station airing Universal Sports, WNCN which is in a market where RTV is unavailable to them.

And it's "Media-General," not "General Media."

WDEM CD is trying to do something that I've haven't see awhile a indie DT station thats not a feed of religon or HSN.

Plus they air more local shows than the other stations.

Is it just me, or does WDEM's logo (as seen in this Wikipedia article) look like a postage stamp? And who's that guy supposed to be?

And why is he scratching his head? Does he have fleas? Pretty bush league if you ask me (and no one did).

It seems to be an image of a conductor of an orchestra. I like the simplicity of the logo myself...certainly better than what other indies do by plugging a bunch of letters into Word, adding a shadow effect and calling it done.

Just like those little old ladies who shop at Dollar General but will call it 'General Dollar' despite all of the yellow signs saying otherwise. You just brought back some irritating memories from my college days...lol
