Columbus recommendations?

Do to my wife's possible job relocation we may be moving near Columbus. I may take a look for a media job in the area and was wondering if some might suggest which company might be the best to work for. I would prefer a production director gig but I am unsure if that position even exist in Columbus. Any suggestions?

White River is very slow to hire. Six months is not unusual. Reising Radio Partners (Q-MIX, KORN) is the other station group in Columbus. Check out other markets in the area. Bloomington, Seymore, and even Indy.

I worked for both groups nearly 15 years ago. The cultures are very different...but they're both very good operators. I personally had a better experience at WCSI/WKKG (I love Tasha Mann the GM and upper mgmt. in Ohio are great). Mike King (GM of WRZQ) is a great guy, though. You can't go wrong with either place. As far as "cultures" go, WRB is more like Cox or the old Susquehanna (more regimented and structured but better product integrity IMHO) whereas WRZQ is more like the old Citadel or even Jacor (if you're a very creative type who has the baggage and issues that come along with that sometimes, you'd probably be happier there). That's not a meant to be a slam at all! To his credit, Keith Reising understands that most creative people are a little crazy.

It didn't take that long for them to hire me, maybe a couple of weeks. I guess it depends on the circumstances.

Not saying this is a reflection of the way WRB runs things, but why can WKKG not hold onto an AM Drive person for any good length of time? Seems they're looking every couple of years, if not less.

I hear that Bruce Quinn is building a new FM station right now! Wonder if he will be leaving
Columbus?

Translator in Seymour-was for WFIU but IU didn't want it.

WHUM is now on the air in Seymour, a translator on one side or the other of 98.5. Signal seems to be getting out well. Since all the FM stations left Seymour, they now have a local voice, again.
