Wow, I remember when Minge was the radio/TV guy for the World Hearld, always wondered what happened to his Saturday column.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, it appears despite the decent ratings that all 80's, Retro 106.9 was getting, i'm guessing Waitt made the switch knowing that they were going to beat CC & Journal to the punch with the "variety hits" format, knowing that the market couldn't support 2 jack style formats
Here's a quote from the column:
“Actually, Retro (which went on the air in March 2004) has done very well,” Fearnow said. “I can’t say that we have been disappointed in Retro’s ratings. In fact, we just came off the best ratings book this station has ever had.
