Combined Hot AC and Hot Talk Format in Canada

KALC "Alice 105.9" tried this back in the 1990s but going up against KRRF 1280 proved to be its downfall so they went back to doing what they do best - Hot AC

"Ralph 1280" KRRF was a sister station of KALC programmed with syndicated talk shows such as Don Imus. The only association to Alice was being co-owned and the name. Ralph had no success and quickly flipped to Classical when 92.5 dropped it for Jammin Oldies. The name came from Ralph Kramden from the Honeymooners, whose wife was Alice. Ralph had ZERO impact on Alice's programming.

You're right but I do remember KALC trying to carry a primetime syndicated love talk show which rated so horribly nationally I even forgot who hosted it. KRRF didn't impact Alice's programming in general but it did expedite the show's death on the local airwaves (And ultimately, nationally) as Ralph 1280 (You could say) counter-programmed against it.

But then by 2001 (But shortly before the 9/11 Attacks), KALC was sold to Emmis while KRRF & the other Chancellor-owned stations went to (At first) Clear Channel Communications (Now iHeartMedia) before ultimately being spun off to CBS/Infinity Broadcasting just before the aforementioned 9/11 Attacks (This I remember quite clearly as while the CBS/Infinity stations were all airing CBS coverage, KALC was simulcasting MSNBC coverage)

"Your Time with Kim Iversen" was over a decade (and multiple owners later) after KRRF died. That was an Entercom corporate initiative across all their Hot ACs in the late 2000s/early 2010s and was far from "Hot Talk".

You seem to be off with a lot of timing and details. 92.5/100.3/105.1 were the only signals that went to CBS as a mandatory divestiture from the AMFM/Clear Channel merger (Clear Channel never owned those three) in 2000. 1280 went to Zee Ferrufino. After a failed sale to Univision predecessor HBC, 96.5 KXPK went to Emmis and then Entravison and KALC went to Salem and then Emmis and finally Entercom in 2002.

If this is the show I'm thinking of, AMFM apparently picked it up in syndication since Entercomm had no station in town. Either way, it obviously wasn't a very good show since KALC simply went back to playing music in primetime

Note I said ultimately, meaning I didn't break it down to the minute details you did :ROFLMAO::LOL:
