Combo for sale - ????

As good a guess as any. Off the top of my head the only AM-AM that comes to mind (other than the WINK-AM/AM pair) is also in SW Florida--the Fort Myers (1410) + Marco (1660) combo that was doing the "Timeless Cool" thing last time I was there a few years ago. Decent signals, but the 50 FM sticks in the market don't leave much loose change laying around for AM entrepeneurs.

Then again, outside of WFLA and WDAE (and maybe the aforementioned WINK-A/A tandem) can you really think of any two AM stations along Florida's Gulf Coast that are worth $300,000 combined?

Maybe for the copper?

Could be WFSX 1240(old WINK AM) in Ft Myers and WNOG 1270 in Naples. For the past 3 years these stations have been nothing more than a simulcast of WFSX 92.5FM. The current owners don't seem to have any plans for these two stations since the Beck/Rush/Hannity programing was moved onto 92.5FM. WNOG's transmitter site is about 5 acres in size also.

It says market 201+ so the Cross City/Chiefland pair sounds right.
Bummer, I kinda liked the thought of WFLA/WHNZ. Throw in the property off Racetrack.

Depressed economy, you know.... :)

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Using the market size posting as a clue would eliminate almost all combos along the coast, so I think that may not be a good clue. I would think that saying "market 201+" would just signify that it is not in a rated market or is a small town station. Where are there two station Gulf Coast AM combos not in a major market? There can't be too many under the same ownership.
