Comcast adds MLB Network HD (823) - Dropping NFL Network?

Just saw new channel 823 on Comcast - new MLB Network HD feed. Standard Def is still on 123.

This is great, but I'm wondering if MLB will black out out-of-market games on MLB if Braves are on.

Also, I saw my Comcast message inbox they "may" be dropping NFL Network at the end of April. Corporate is probably negotiating new deal with NFL. Hopefully they're just bluffing to drop NFL so they can get a better deal.

The NFL is mad that Comcast will not put NFL Network on the Digital Basic tier - where everyone has to pay for it. There was a lawsuit over this...and Comcast won.

Time Warner will not negoiate to this day for the NFL Network. This history...and the news that DirecTV renewed their exclusive Sunday Ticket deal...leads me to believe that the channel will just be dropped come May 1st with no fanfare.

On a related note...the encryption has come off of the digital simulcast basic channels (up to 79) - as evidenced by the ability to tune with a QAM tuner. This is required for the DTA adapters (ultra-cheap cable boxes with no guide and no On Demand support...and no support for encryption). Looks like analog cable will be turned off in the next couple of months.
