Comcast adds TV One to NJ lineups

Comcast added TV One to Ch.173 here. According to comcast.com, the listing still doesn't show up for Mt.Holly/Cherry Hill lineup, but it's there.

Comcast launched TV One into analog on certain systems originally in Baltimore and some other markets a year or two ago, but many Comcast subscribers still didn't have access. (Note: I believe Comcast owns a small part of this network as well).

It's only now, Comcast has made TV One prevalent on NJ systems on digital 173. I know its up on Comcast Secaucus now also on 173.

This news maybe old by a month, but still worth mentioning. It's a channel that which carries sitcoms/reruns (like 227, Amen, Boston Public), not just movies, kids programming or sports.

Missing channels in my area: Hallmark (full-time), IFC, Travel Channel, WGN, the women nets: Lifetime Real Women, WE, Oxygen.

WGN and the latter 3 womens nets, on DirecTV, carry alot of sitcom rerun programming, though none of em are really exceptional. I really don't know why WGN and Travel aren't made available here, as they would have some appeal esp. for recent or potential satellite tv switchers to dig. cable.

Comcast seems to be beefing up digital cahle packages. Maybe, they are competing against Fios in more areas. About 6 months back they added Logo, PBS Kids Sprout and Lifetime Movie Net also. But there was a long year and more before that, where they didn't really add anything, except for the HD channels and boxes (including DVRs).

They recently cut back on some of the Encore Channels (in the 150's,) and the Sundance West channel (in the 160's)in South Jersey, yet my father who lives in Delaware County still has these stations (and the Hallmark Channel)on his Comcast Digital lineup.

Garden State Cable cut out most of the west coast feeds of all the movie channels. I think the only ones I get now are HBO-west and Cinamax-west. They said that you can get the movies on-demand. I think they're just trying to clear bandwith for their phone service.

Thats weird, HBO West & Cinemax West are the only west coast feeds that I still get on Comcast.
