COMCAST and COX - EAS Monthly Tests

At 11:42AM this morning COMCAST did a Monthly EAS Test. Full Screen TEXT and Voice Over. Bottom of the message said From WTICAMFM.

About a minute later they did it again. It was the same exact thing. Monthly EAS Test. Full Screen TEXT and Voice Over. But this time the bottom of the message said from WDRC.

My mom called me and told me COX did the same thing.

I know one station is the primary and the other is the backup, but do we really need to see the monthly test twice - one from each station? This isn't the first time I've seen this with the monthly test.

By the way I think it was in very poor taste to do a Monthly EAS Test in the middle of an Ice Storm. I'm sure a lot of people thought when they heard the EAS tones it was gonna be for Weather Information.

I have received EAS tests from Tucson (KNST AM) before on Phoenix Cox cable. More often the originator is Cox EV (East Valley).

"Kool 101 is awesome" - now that would be an interesting "message" I'd like to see from WDRC... ::)

OK... My "Kool" comment might have been a little OT, but that was WAY out of left field, KML!
