After the storm we had in June, I was without Comcast for 2 & 1/2 days. Major fiber cable was burned by a downed PECO wire. Storm happened Thursday afternoon and PECO didn't kill power until Saturday afternoon. Comcast and contractors couldn't start repairs until power killed. Comcast was restored by Saturday night. Lots of fiber pairs to be repaired in 2 places on Warren Ave in Malvern.
Get DISH Network or DirecTV and you won't have to worry about downed wires, being down for days and you'll get Sleuth too! (Plus it's much cheaper than Comcast)...

I have DirecTv and it did work with a generator. No power either for that time. 1 frige, 1 freezer, 2 fans, 1 tv and 1 DirecTv box running on gasoline. I have basic Comcast cable to get a good price on a triple play. I have HBO and Starz with Xfinity because the HD on-demand is better with Xfinity than with DirecTv. DirecTv is for sports, MLB ticket & Sunday Ticket, plus I get NESN and CSN-NE.
