The next Kiss Concert and Jamn 94.5 Summer Jam 2009 concert, will be at The Comcast Center ( Goodbye Great Woods, Tweeter Center, New Name is Comcast Center ).

Considering Tweeter has been in financial straights for a while now, including a bankruptcy, it's no surprise the naming rights contract was either not renewed, or sold .

I STILL call it Great Woods every once in a while!?!

I saw the new signs on 495 tonight. Could we start a pool on the next place to resell its naming rights???

Regardless of the name of the place, the original design,
from what I heard, was supposed to include an exit directly onto I-495,
so they could clear people out quickly after an event. (Rte. 140,
the entrance, is a little 2 lane blacktop) Does anybody know why this was never built?
(unless it was built since the last time I was there - has been a while...)

No, a direct exit to the highway has still never been built. I don't know why not. Maybe it would make too much sense.

Cost prohibitive, from what I heard some years ago. And I, too, still call it Great Woods.

Are you insinuating rapkin started another TRASH thread? ;D

No, I'm stating that this topic is completely irrelevant to this board; I don't care who posted it.

This means local radio stations will have to update promos, concert listings and relevant graphics on their websites.

There. The thread is now relevant to radio. Glad I could help.

It's still completely irrelevant.

I really don't care what company buys these rights, it's still Foxboro Stadium, the Boston Garden, and Great Woods to me. Can one get in trouble for intentionally not using these branding names on the air?

Yes ! Companies pull there adds off the station, Confuse the listeners, Radio station get alot of complain from the listeners, Guess who get Fired ??

We had a Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ. It started as the Sony-Blockbuster Entertainment center. When it started, they didn't use ticketmaster. You had to go to Blockbuster video to get tickets. That didn't last long. Soon we were buying tickets at ticketmaster.

Comcast owns the Spectrum and Wachovia Center in Philly. They don't use Ticketmaster. We buy tickets for those venues (and Citizens Bank Park) at ComcastTix.com.

Now that Tweeter is bankrupt, our Tweeter Center was renamed the Susquehanna Bank Center.

Anyone for the TD Commerce Bank Garden? If TD eventually wins in court or settles with the other bank.

By the way, I bank at TD Banknorth, the official bank of the Celtics, heard on WEEI!

They had to do something to get to sports fans, after all Bank of America is officially Red Sox Banking.
