Get ready for huge changes if you've got Comcast in New Britain (CT) by August 24th. No word on what's changing with the Comcast lineups in Hartford, Middletown and New Haven. Anyways...

"Effective August 24th, we will be unveiling a new easy-to-use cable television lineup, reorganizing our lineup into theme-based blocks. That means sports channels will be grouped together. So will news channels. And Family Programming. In fact, nearly every channel will be next to one like itself, making it easier than ever to find what you want to watch."

"And we are introducing International Programming, including the Canales Selecto package for Hispanic customers and a la carte subscription services RAI, TV5, RTN and ZeeTV."

**** Cable channel 14 and 15 are presently the analog positions of HBO and The Movie Channel, respectively (digital 550 and 590 for now, respectively).

Where did you get that information from? My grandparents live in Farmington and they didn't hear anything about these changes. I know Farmington is currently on the same system as New Britain.

They sent it to me in the mail. You can go to www.comcast-ne.com/newchannels for more information.

Wow! Dude that looks like the biggest change in COMCAST's New Britain area lineup since the time they were known as TCI and went from 46 channels to 78. You guys are sure lucky have OLN on analog cable. COX bounced it over to digital last year. <P ID="signature">______________

I talked with one of their reps on the phone today. Any and all analog customers receving both HBO on cable channel 14 and The Movie Channel on cable channel 15 will need digital converters starting on August 24th. I put in a request for WWE 24/7 (On Demand). Since they're the ones causing this inconvenience, they said that the cost of adding an additional converter for my mother's TV will be waived ($7.50 monthly rental however). She'd receive all of the same channels that I get in my room now (4 HBOs, Encore and six other Encore-related channels).

On a side note, WGBY-TV (PBS) channel 57 of Springfield, MA is still the only out-of-market broadcast channel we'll receive on the New Britain lineup. :(

REguarding moving premium channels to the digital tier, this is happening all over the country. About WWE 24/7, Comcast and WWE are in talks about it.

And more likely it will remain that way.

They forgot to mention that they are replacing TVE for 52MX from Mexico, and they will finally be adding SuperCanal Caribe (from the Dominican Republic), GolTV, and "Puerto Rico's most wanted import" (WAPA America)

How do you know if Comcast in Connecticut has this channel on it or not?

The only press release showed it being on Comcast, and I know that Comcast Newton, MA has it on...

But I have seen no evidence that it is in Connecticut yet...

Our Comcast lineup here in New Britain does NOT have WAPA America on it yet.

It looks like to me that Comcast is going to make all their line-ups about the same in all of Connecticut. With some difference in the local channels but having the major cable networks on all the same channels in all of CT.

Check your new town/city listings on this address:
http://www.comcast-ne.com/newchannels/channels.php

Many of these channels will pop up by August 24th, perhaps a few days earlier.

Here in Massachusetts, WAPA America was supposed to be available on July 5th, but it was already viewable for more than two weeks.

It will be by August 24th, if not earlier as it happened on all Comcast systems in Massachusetts. WAPA America was supposed to be made available by July 5th, but it was already available at least two weeks earlier.

Yep, it's there in the New Britian listing - at Channel 650. You'd have to buy the Canales Selecto package to get it though.
