Comcast Network HD

It was 201 in Malvern, PA too. I guess since the Phillies were the only thing on it in HD, they took it away to save bandwidth. I can only guess that channel 201 will be back at the beginning of baseball season next year for the CSN-Philly overflow games.

Comcast is back to some of their old ways, such as:

They are a no show when you have been scheduled for a transfer of service for two weeks.
After 2 hours late they tell you that the techs were overbooked, but please be patient, they are coming.
After 4 hours late they tell you that the techs are running a little bit behind, but are coming.
After 6 hours late they tell you that the tech had bad equipment.
After they just don't bother to show they tell you that you were never scheduled, you were probably disconnected at the old address because of nonpayment, and then they disconnect phone (Perry Hall, Maryland call center).
When you go online to chat live and get the whole series of events on the record in writing, they disconnect Internet - but not before the damage to them is already done, including the cancelled check information.
Then you call from a mobile phone and they tell you that the reason your service was disconnected was probably because you didn't pay your bill, and that you cannot have service for at least 8 days (Perry Hall, Maryland call center)
Then you reach the Shreveport, Louisiana call center, where a customer service rep reads the entire chronology of events, including what you put in writing, and says, "Oh my God! I need to get a supervisor right away.  Please don't hang up!  Oh my God! You will have a silent hold, and it might be awhile.  My supervisor or I will be back to you though.".

And then, thanks to the arrogance, incompetence and laziness of the corporation up to that point you get loads and loads of credits for your inconvenience, because they suddenly noticed something about an FCC attorney in there and the response of the smart arse with whom you were speaking.

Then the tech shows up and doesn't know what to do, so you have cables and lines running all through the middle of rooms, so you get a whole lot more in credits to have the mess cleaned up.

More often than not it is the Perry Hall, Maryland call center that makes Comcast have to spend so much, and then another part of the country or Canada has to fix it.

Then they call you up to ask you to take a few minutes to participate in a survey about your recent installation.  You tell them the service sucked, but they paid for it, so they ask you to participate in the survey from their script, not what actually happened to you.

In the long run it's better to get rid of bad apples who think they are slick enough or shrewd enough to get past you with ridiculous conduct designed to insult your intelligence. If the big dogs get stung because of their own actions, the little guys will get stung even worse when it is time - no matter how slick and local or shrewd and expansive.

They follow Twitter, and I know people frustrated and mistreated as you who have gotten resolution there. in a matter of minutes.

Today they added a year of free HBO to my "resolution" when I went to "pay" my statement. The people at Comcast asked if I really wanted to blow a check on a couple of dollars, because it wouldn't be held against me for less than $20. I said I wanted to pay it, and they asked if I wanted to plunk some down on future statements. I said I suffered hard for the nominal statement, and told them what happened. They asked, "Do you like HBO?". I said I didn't have it, so they gave it to me for a year, no catches, no hitches, no hooks, for free. They screwed up pretty big time. The only thing I really can't do anything about is that they have not trenched and buried the new cable yet. They have a utility easement, so I won't worry about it.
