Comcast Promoting "Adult" Programming

It never seems to amaze me with the religious groups who think sex is bad.
Most of them don't think sex is bad, Marc.
They just don't think the world needs to see everyone else carrying off the act.

Comcast is in the process of changing it's name to Xfinity.

I guess we all know what the "X" stands for now...

We don't really have to worry until they change their name to XXXfinity. ;D

I thought their name had changed to "Cabletown." ;)

Pornography, especially in the internet age, has become so mainstream that it does seem funny that someone would pay to watch something that is free and readily available on the internet. With that said, I think cable providers have done a decent job at policing themselves as far as keeping the tabs on what children can access as far as "adult" entertainment, probably far better than most parents do at monitor their children's internet usage and exposure to pornography online.

I agree..it really is funny how people pay for pornography when so much of it is free but on the other hand....for many people for one reason or another there is this "fear" of internet porn. The "fear" that something bad might happen if they would venture on one of those sites such as getting a virus and the "fear" of how to explain as to why you were visiting such a site in the first place. For some its the "fear" of being caught visiting such sites at home either by your employer, family member or even a local church even though...well what is the risk? How would they know what you do at home unless YOU would tell them? Anyway too many people are paranoid when it comes to the idea of visiting a porn site much less downloading an x-rated movie that they would rather hop in the car at 2AM drive miles and miles to visit an all night sex shop and pay for something that they could get for free online. And the "fear" extends to cable TV too. My co-worker for many years used to work in customer service at Comcast. Just the other day she was telling me the weird calls they would get from guys who wanted to know if Comcast would contact their wives if they decided to pay for adult programming. While it is laughable I can't help but feel sorry for these people.

Children & Internet porn....sadly a lot of parents do NOT monitor what their kids do online and whats worse is that some parents believe in the "internet police". In other words its the police who should monitor the internet and what their kids do online. My neighbor works in law enforcement and he has told me many of times whenever a child is found with an adult they had met online say at a motel the parents were told of course what happened. However from what my neighbor has told me a LOT of times the parents not only admit they don't even bother monitoring what their kids do online but many of them get angry at the police as they really believe IT'S THE JOB FOR THE POLICE TO MONITOR. ::)

And a lot of people want to know why we have so many kids in trouble today.

... a "big-box" adult store announced it was opening in Southington, Connecticut... The store finally opened about a month ago... I'd rather see that store there than have the store sitting vacant. It was formerly Ethan Allen Furniture Store.

Anti-capitalist prude! ;)

btw As if this post didn't teeter on the brink of being "taken outside"... what exactly is a "big box" adult store?

I think you can find a video on one of the streaming sites... ;D

I was not about to go there, so I am pleased that somebody had some euphemistic talent.
