Comcast rate increases, Now it's time to cut back.

I just got my corruptcast oops Comcast bill yesterday with all the increases, $2.00 dollars I see so far Anyway .will I got News for them on the first of the year,I will drop the extented basic and just get the lifeline only. cable tv is NOT worth $65 dollars with all the $hit programing they put on the cable clannels.I wont miss the extra channels, as long I can catch the news and a handfull of network favorite shows,Plus Feb 17 is creaping up fast and slow as I am, I 'm not DTV ready.I can blame all the time I spend on the the computer and the internet.no time to watch the boop tube. Will guys and gals whats all your opinions.

You are confused. Feb 17 will do nothing to you if you have cable. And if you have an antenna, simply go to Walmart and buy a digital box and send in the coupon to get it for free and you can watch over the air Tv just as you always have.

Switch to Fios. Extreme HD with its 200 plus channels (not including SD duplicates of HD channels) costs around the same as the mere 77 channel Digital starter on Comcast.

This is one reason I didn't go with Comcrap when I moved to my new house. The quality was sub-par from my DirecTV dish, customer service was slow to respond it seems they charge much more than everybody else. Besides, I can always put my dish on "vacation hold" and suspend service for up to a year without going through all the reconnect charges, etc. Try that with cable.

Remember kiddies, it's Com-Crapstic!

Comcast has had such a monopoly in New England and now that Verizon is starting to make competition, look for things to change. I do not have Comcast, nor would I get it at my Mass house. It's simply too expensive. I have been a Direct Tv customer since day one and love it. And best of all I get both west coast and East coast stations. I have seen Fios and it too blows away Comcast. Wait till Verizon starts offering more cheaper broadband as it is doing now. To pay Comcasts rates for internet is like dealing with Somalian pirates.

I don't understand your response. If it's a joke, I missed it. But as for the digital transition, there is nothing you or Comcast need to do on February 17th. You don't need a new TV, and Comcast does what it's always been doing. Digital Tv only affect folks with TV sets that use outdoor antennas. And even those folks will not need new TVs, simply a converter box.

Yes I know, feb 17 is for dtv transition only ,But it I have a outage, which I dont get often ,at lease I have to give Comcast credit for staying on the air.anyway I'm dead in the water.if the cable goes out,I just have to get a$$ in gear to go the dtv website and request my coupons and go to Wal-Mart and pick up the units. If the DTV signel is clear in my area, then I will unplug Comcast Altogether.

Ah I see. Sorry to say, don't expect greatness from digital over the air. In many ways it sucks more than analog. For instance unless you get a baseline of 30% signal and nominally 40-50% you will not get a watchable signal. And worse of all, things that affect the propagation of digital signals are so degrading as to make viewing some signals even if you can see the transmitter antenna, you still can't get a picture. It can be very frustrating and prove my point that every step forward in technology is in many ways two steps back.
