Comcast showing WLIW-21 after WSBE-36 signed off for the night

Normally down here on the south shore, WSBE HD is on channel 819. Obviously this is being picked up over the air somewhere, because right now, WLIW from Long Island is coming through 100%! The tropo isn't even that great tonight. Since WSBE signs off every night at 11:30, I imagine this will not be the last time this happens. WLIW-DT was previously on 22, but moved to 21 on June 12th.

Just checked, it doesn't seem to be happening up here on Verizon. I'm getting WSBE-DT. I guess Verizon carries it 24/7, unlike Comcast, though they don't have WSBE Learn.

It's interesting that on Comcast, the SD feed on 19 (digital only) is carried 24/7, but not the HD. I did notice that WLIW is not broadcast in HD though. It's probably a similar situation to WGBX here, where being the secondary PBS affiliate in the NY market, they run several subchannels.

Comcast recieves all Providence market DTV's over the air.

All the more reason to switch to FiOS!

Except if you're an MSNBC viewer in a market in which Cablevision also provides service...

Why, are you saying this is a problem that Comcast is picking up WLIW when WSBE signs off? I think it's pretty damn cool! It's happening again right now, though at the moment the signal is breaking up a bit. Maybe WBOC from Delmarva will come in at some point.

I mean, I know it's cool, but that's not really how it should be. They should pick up the WSBE signal 24/7. And I don't think it would happen in my area.

P.S. I also noticed that there's a lot of programming they don't broadcast in HD. I don't think any of the children's shows are.
