South Jersey also lost the Gameshow Network as well as CMT.
Maybe they're putting them on a more expensive tier, not part of basic anymore... don't know.

I would complain to comcast and tell them that you want GSN. I have GSN myself in the NE/NW Philadelphia service area

Comcast Garden State moved them both to digital cable in the 100s. Little by little, they're getting rid of analog cable b/c they want to free up bandwith. Every channel below 100 is being transmitted twice, once in analog for cable ready TVs and in digital to the digital boxes. I've noticed when I have digital cable on in my family room and analog cable on in the kitchen both on the same channel, they have different commercials sometimes when Comcast is inserting locals.

But Comcast is also trying to bump as many channels as possible to extra-cost tiers too. Just take a look at what they've done with NFL Network. It was originally part of the digital plus tier - now you have to buy the extra sports tier to have access to it. And, they are running all sorts of misleading ads trying to slander the Big Ten Network in their quest for carriage.

Yet CSN and Vs. (both owned by Comcast) are on basic, analog cable. So is that useless CN8. Yes, clearly bandwidth is an issue. But so are Comcast's corporate priorities.

We need more choices when it comes to cable TV. And don't regale me with stories about getting a dish - many people cannot install one.

you dont think comcast sportsnet will be a pay channel soon ???

you have another thing coming

No, I don't. They want as wide of an audience as possible for THEIR channels. Any subscription costs incurred by showing CSN (an in-house channel) will happily be passed on to all subscribers.

CSN and Versus staying on basic are a very safe bet. They would be among the last channels to go into a package.

Our NE/NW Philadelphia service area also added IFC and a few new HD channels like HGTV, FOOD, NFL Network, etc.

Also National Geographic HD and A and E HD is also added to the lineup. What I want to know is where is ESPNU and Big Ten Network? Why hasn't comcast added this important sports channels?
