Comcast taking over Time Warner Houston system

Funny, I thought TW wanted to keep all their texas systems, why they gave it over to comcast is beyond me. Their customer service is some of the worst in the industry and inability to make decisions on their HD tier made me switch to Dish last year.

Comcast's customer service is far worse than TWC. I had TWC when I lived in Waco and had no trouble. I had so much trouble with Comcast in the DFW area that when Verizon FiOS became available I signed up just as soon as I could. It's been great!

The funny thing to me has been reading all the bickering between the NFL and TWC over the NFL Network on the former Comcast systems here in the DFW area. The day TWC took over the Comcast systems and dropped the NFL Network altogether, Verizon moved the NFL network from the sports package to the regular package. (now I see that the FCC is forcing TWC to add NFL back until they can rule on a petition by the NFL that TWC violated FCC rules by failing to give them 30 days notice that they were dropping the channel)

I'm a TWC subscriber in Houston, but will take a wait-and-see attitude about the Comcast takeover until I see what their eventual pricing and packaging turns out to be. I have a feeling that prices are going to go up, but there might be some program tier changes that would allow me to drop some stuff I really don't need without losing the channels I usually watch.

We're at least seven to eight months away from the switchover, so we'll hash it over then.

For one, im glad time warner moved into the market. They have excellent customer service, as well as adding better programming to their HD tier (HD Net anyone?)

As a 4-month Time Warner customer and former 7-year Cox Communications customer, my experience with Time Warner has been completely unacceptable. I ONLY have TWC because I live in an apartment and my choices are limited. I had a problem with my internet and it would be no less than 3.5 WEEKS before they could send someone out to check it. In addition, I requested to terminate my service so they transferred me to the 'retentions dept'. In retentions, they asked me why I wanted to cancel and said "no problem". The next day, someone from TWC called me and asked me if I was home... I was at work...anyways, they told me a techician was at my apartment to fix the problem. NO ADVANCE NOTICE! They just showed up. I told them I was at work and could not meet the tech. They told me the next available service date was then 4 weeks away since I missed this appointment. Oddly enough, the tech must have been able to repair my weak signal as everything was working perfectly when I returned home. That is the ONLY reason why I still have TWC service. As a Cox customer, 3 DAYS was a long time for a tech visit for repairs. I say ADIOS Time Warner. It would be hard for Comcast to be worse, although it is a distince possibility. In the meantime, my cable is working perfectly. I couldn't be happier about the new digital simulcast of all channels under 100. Mediafrog, you are correct about their squirrely packages...GSN part of sports pack ?? What a load of crap. There are many other channels in packages that make absolutely no sense. *RANT OFF*
