Come On Along!

For much of the day, I've noticed - online at least - that KOMY has no audio.
The online stream is running, but with a very faint, barely audible, KSCO audio
in its place. Interesting.

Sad, indeed, Production Boy...KOMY could've been something splendid, but if
no money is put into what is perceived as an ambitious project, you obviously
will have these results.

The on-line feed from KOMY now sounds like a construction site, hammer and nails, etc. Then periodically an announcer comes on, something about constructing a new KOMY.

A format change already?

The voice says a brand new radio station is coming and the listeners will be pleasantly surprised with what is coming up and they are almost done.

The format will still be Oldies, albeit satellite-fed, until The KOMY Krew can get the kinks worked out internally (the computer automation system was simply not up to the task, and Billy Graff was getting slammed trying to program it manually) and externally (the maintenance required on the transmitter and antenna system was much more extensive than originally estimated).

My understanding is that live, locally-originated programming will resume on KOMY as soon as these details are taken care of.

Its sad but KOMY has signed a contract for ABC Oldies Radio. As usual Jackass has gone off half cocked and made statements that he can't possible verify. I sure hope Jackass is at the NAB we have been trying to meet him face to face for several months!!! It's JMF in the AM and ABC all the rest of the time!!! For now thats all they can afford!! Big John you are the best had I known you were looking I would have hired you for my new three station cluster! Best of luck!!!

I hope you're not refering to me as "Jackass." I was in Ron Stevens' office at KSCO/KOMY in Santa Cruz when the decision was made to go with JONES Satellite Network, not ABC.

As for verifying my information, if you're saying I haven't been involved in the process at KOMY, give Michael Zwerling, Ron Stevens or Billy Graff at the station a call. I'm sure they'll set you straight immediately.

And if you want to meet me, have your attorney get in touch with me directly.

The countdown will now begin on how long it takes you to go running to the moderator to have my post removed.
