Recently we've been listening to the new Comedy 1700. The programming is unique and is enjoyable. BUT the lack of attention to the technical part of the operation is a major turn off. The dead air is tolerable, However, the gross distortion/clipping on some of the play out cards is a killer. Then when the next event plays and the level is 10db below the previous event the slow fade up by the AGC is painful to hear.
Whenever we are driving around town and are looking for something entertaining besides music we tune in. The clipping on one side of the scale and the extreme low level on the other really detracts from the listening experience.
The format is a good idea and is reasonably entertaining, but the technical problems tend to drastically reduce the time spent listening.
If someone was monitoring the station I'm certain these issues can be resolved with a days worth of work. It's apparent that the station is unattended...
