Comedy on talk shows

Anybody have any favorite comedy bits used on talk shows? Limbaugh had some great stuff years ago but hardly does any comedy anymore. Glenn Beck (aside from what you think of his show generally) seems to have the steadiest supply of new material, a lot of it very very good. If Hannity uses humor I haven't heard it.Air America tries, and sometimes succeeds. Springer has the best song parodies. Randi Rhodes good fake commercials. Rachel Maddow's fake news is good. Franken's stuff occasionally is good but mostly slow and long-winded; if his ego could accept an editor the bits (and the show generally) would be better.Heard any specific things from anyone that you like?

For some reason, the political humor on the late night TV talk shows is not only funnier - but politically more effective - than what I've heard on political talk radio.Lately, I like Letterman's political humor.Maybe political humor works better if the goal is to be funny rather than zing the opposition and advance an agenda. Franken should know that. He used to be a comedian.

And the award for "Best Comedy in a Talk Radio Format" goes to...PHIL HENDRIE!Unfortunately, he's retiring from the medium June 23rd. G-D it, what am I gonna do between 10 and 1 every weeknight ???

Don't you love how every syndicator uses "biting humor" or something similar to describe their shows... like ABC with Hannity... umm, I think I must have missed Sean's great humor.Glenn Beck is rather funny, as is Stephanie Miller. The two best in their crowded daypart for their respective side of the aisle. Although I think that in a listenerscape littered with those who want wall-to-wall Bush- or Democrat-bashing, the humor employed by shows like these costs them clearances. Hannity, who has no sense of humor, is on 500 stations, while Beck and Miller are relegated to B-list status.
